Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Indians acquired INF/OF Russ Canzler from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash considerations Tuesday.
The 25-year-old Canzler was named the MVP of the International League last season at Triple-A Durham. He hit .314 with 40 doubles, 18 home runs and 83 RBI in 131 games.
In three games with the Rays last season, Canzler had a hit, an RBI and a walk.
