Canadiens sign D Diaz to 2-year deal

Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens signed defenseman Raphael Diaz to a two-year contract on Friday.

The 26-year-old Diaz made his NHL debut last season, registering three goals and 13 assists in 59 games with the Canadiens.

A native of Switzerland, Diaz missed Montreal's last 16 games due to a groin injury.
