Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles optioned pitcher Brian
Matusz to Triple-A Norfolk following their 6-2 loss to Cleveland on Sunday.
Matusz started the game and took the loss, giving up five runs -- four earned
-- on seven hits and three walks in four-plus innings.
On the season, Matusz is 5-10 with a 5.42 earned run average. In his last five
starts, the 25-year-old left-hander is 0-5 with an 8.44 ERA.
Last season, Matusz went 1-9 with a 10.69 ERA in 49 2/3 innings after posting
a 4.30 ERA as a 23-year-old in 2010.
