Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks activated shortstop
Stephen Drew from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday and placed pitcher Daniel
Hudson on the 15-day DL with right elbow soreness.
Drew has been sidelined since last July when he suffered a spiral fracture of
his right fibula when he was sliding into home plate against the Milwaukee
Brewers.
In six seasons, Drew has a .270 career average and 70 home runs.
Hudson left Tuesday's game in Atlanta in the second inning after allowing five
runs on seven hits in 1 2/3 innings.
After posting a 3.49 earned run average in 222 innings in his first full
season as a starter in 2011, Hudson has struggled this year. Despite a 3-2
record, he has given up 62 hits and 12 walks in 45 1/3 innings and has a 7.35
ERA.
The Diamondbacks also recalled pitcher Patrick Corbin from Triple-A Reno and
optioned pitcher Jonathan Albaladejo to Reno.
Corbin, 22, is 2-3 with a 5.27 ERA in 27 1/3 innings in five starts for the
Diamondbacks this season.
Albaladejo allowed two runs in an inning Tuesday against Atlanta.
