Palm River-Clair Mel, Fla. -- A deputy pulled over an Alabama woman Saturday evening to find five illegal immigrants in her SUV.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, on Feb. 4 around 5:15 p.m., the deputy pulled over 21-year-old Kathleen Roberson's 2003 Kia Sorrento for not having a tag at the intersection of Falkenburg Road S. and Progress Blvd.
During the stop, the deputy found five Mexican citizens in the car and another passenger, 29-year-old Jessica Roland of Alabama, in possession of cocaine.
During further investigation, it was determined Roberson was transporting the Mexicans fom Alabama to Immokalee, Florida. She was also found with $6,000 in cash.
The Border Patrol seized the car and the cash.
Roberson is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail on federal charges of Human Trafficking. She was also charged with not having a valid driver's license.
Roland was arrested for Possession of Cocaine.
The five Mexicans are also being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond pending deportation.
