DELRAY BEACH, Florida (CBS12) -- Police are searching for a 17-year-old girl who sent her mother a text saying she was in the trunk of a car, abducted while she walked to her school bus stop at 7 a.m.
Police say Jade Beneby is black, 5'6", 105 pounds, wearing a long-sleeve white shirt and long blue jeans carrying a pink bag. She is a student at Atlantic High School. Photos of Jade Beneby on a modeling website listed her as a Miami resident and 5'3".
Police say at 7:05 a.m. she texted her mother asking for help. A minute later she texted that she had done all she could and that she was inside the trunk of a vehicle. The bus stop is about 4 blocks from her home.
Delray Beach Police report one person walking a dog may have seen Beneby this morning talking to someone in a stopped car, but didn't think anything of it because it appeared the girl knew the person in the car.
