Jennifer Mee leaves court after a pre-trial hearing on May 3, 2013.

LARGO, Florida (AP) - Pinellas County prosecutors have asked a judge to prevent "Hiccup Girl" Jennifer Mee from making public statements before her upcoming murder trial.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Judge Nancy Moate Ley didn't order any restrictions but scheduled a hearing for Friday to discuss the motion. She also told Mee's attorney that she hoped Mee would not give media interviews before then.

In response, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office suspended all interviews with Mee until after Friday's hearing.

The 22-year-old goes on trial Tuesday. She is one of three people accused in the 2010 killing of Shannon Griffin in St. Petersburg.

The case has attracted attention because Mee had previously gained notoriety when she had a case of hiccups that wouldn't stop.
