Tampa, Florida -- The Beach Boys wowed the audience at Sunday's Grammy Awards. Now they're planning to bring their "good vibrations" to Tampa in the spring.
The Beach Boys are launching their 50th anniversary tour in April at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. It will be the first time all five of the band's surviving members (Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks) have tourned together in more than 20 years.
The 40+ city tour will stop at the Straz Center's Carol Morsani Hall on May 5th. Tickets will start at $49.50 with VIP packages including premium seats, a meet and greet, access to the band's sound check selling for $295.50. Tickets will go on sale Feb. 24 at noon by calling (813) 229-STAR, at the Center's box office or online at www.strazcenter.org.
In addition to the 50th anniversary tour, the Beach Boys have recorded new songs for a studio album to be released in 2012. They are also releasing a commemorative 50th anniversary catalog with Capitol/EMI.
