Katy Perry at the 2011 Grammy Awards
Katy Perry wasn't a lady singing the blues at Saturday night's DirecTV Super Bowl bash, her blue bob and recent Russell Brand split notwithstanding. Indeed, she was positively playful, performing in a half-Giants, half-Patriots cropped jersey, lace-up booty shorts and tube socks and dedicating her not-so-subtle song Peacock to the guy her parents have reportedly been trying to fix her up with.
"This one goes out to Tim Tebow," she told the crowd, reports the Indy Star.
Earlier, at the NFL Honors ceremony, wearing a furry grape vest and ikat miniskirt, she whispered to her QB maybe-crush: "Hi, Tim. My parents say, 'Hi,' " reports NFL.com. The response in the room? "Awkward giggles."
Tebow had just put another star, show host Alec Baldwin, into his signature Tebowing genuflection on stage. The crowd's reaction to that stunt? Roars.
