Tampa, FL-- USF dedicated the Lee Roy Selmon Athletics Center Wednesday, in the former athletic director's honor.
USF President Dr. Judy Genshaft initially made the announcement at Lee Roy Selmon's memorial service last September.
The ceremony drew USF friends and Selmon family members from across the Bay Area. Lee Roy's brother, Lucious, came in from Oklahoma. All 3 of Lee Roy and Claybra's children, spoke at the ceremony.
His widow, Claybra, gave an emotional speech about her husband, who devoted much of his time and effort to USF after retiring from pro football.
"I want to end by saying... Sweetheart... The fruit of your labor is right here... Well done, Good and faithful servant."
