If you have children, you probably already know the Disney/Pixar film "Cars 2" pulls into theaters on Friday.
But Lightning McQueen, Mater and the rest of the "Cars" crew are also hitting TV screens, with an important message about distracted driving.
A new public service announcement from the Department of Transportation uses the popular characters to let kids and their parents know that "only bad guys drive distracted."
"We really value having partners like Disney and Pixar involved in our safety mission," Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood writes in his blog. "Especially when it comes to instilling safe driving behavior among young people from an early age. So if you don't take it from me, take it from our friends on the big screen: One Text or Call Could Wreck it All."
